Resize and Share Images on The Fly
There are many software one can use to resize images. Some even make it pretty simple, like drag and drop. But if you are resizing images for email or online sharing, there still remains the hassle of saving them and then locating them in Windows Explorer. AltaPixShare makes things even simpler by allowing you to resize and share images on the fly.
These days not only most apps, but also websites like Facebook, Dropbox etc. support drag and drop. You can simply drag a photo on Facebook window to share it, or on Gmail window to attach it to an email. AltaPixShare saves you the time taken in saving the images and then opening the save folder.
The software also allows you to add some basic effects to the photos like black & white, Sepia colour effects or Fish eye effect etc. Once you are done, you can either share the images or save them on your computer.
It is a small software and as such it is not right to demand much of it. However, there were multiple areas where the application was found wanting. These are a few things that can be changed to make it much better software:
- There is no option to define a custom resize factor, only the predefined half or quarter. It would have been better if we could resize by percentage.
- The resize factor needs to be selected separately for each photo. Multiple selection may be added to make it more useful.
- If we share by dragging directly from the window, we can only share all the images together. It would have been better if individual images could be shared in the same way.
However, the software hasn’t been updated in over a year. So it is unlikely that we’ll see these features in this application. Nonetheless, this is an incredibly useful app if you frequently share or upload images on various websites. Give it a try now.
