Find Out What’s Occupying Your Hard Disk With FilePro
So your hard disk is full. You bought a new 1 terabyte hard disk just 6 months back and now it had virtually no free space. And you have no idea what is occupying all that space because in spite of repeated instructions, you did not keep your files and folders organised. So how do you find catch the culprit, in this case, the largest files and folders residing on your hard disk? Simple, using Saleen FilePro.
Saleen FilePro scans any drive or folder on your hard disk and presents a graphical report of the files and folders inside. The default report format looks like this: 
From this report you will be able to see which files and folders are occupying the most space on your drives. You can zoom in to any folder by double clicking on its header or from the context menu to analyse it more closely.
You can also get File or Folder statistics as bar charts to get an easier to understand overview. From this view you can easily understand which folder or file is the largest inside the scanned drive or folder.
Saleen FilePro also provides search functionality. You can search for any file or folder and it will automatically zoom onto it.
The Snapshot functionality is also an awesome feature. You can take a snapshot of a drive or folder and then compare it later with the current state to find the changes that have been made.
The scanning is pretty quick. It took less than a minute to generate the graph you can see above. It is a 130 GB drive with around 97 GB of files. This drive contains all my portable applications and documents. So the number of files in this drive is huge. Yet it hardly took any time to scan.
Saleen FilePro is a good software for disk analysis. You would find it hard to believe, but I actually freed up 13 GB of space in my D drive the first time I used it. There were some large files which were duplicates or no longer useful (for example, 2 Ubuntu ISOs). Saleen FilePro can be installed as a portable application, just select Manual Installation at the bottom of the setup window. When you launch the application, it will ask you if you want to evaluate the corporate version or use the home version. However I was unable to find any differences between the two, so just select home version.
